Protecting a reset date
The two things that most often cost a reset are approval delay and a late specification change, and both are within your control.
Nominate one person with authority to approve proofs. On date-driven work, approval time is more frequently the binding constraint than production time, and a proof circulating for consensus is the most common cause of a missed cutoff.
