Terms and Conditions

These terms cover how quotes, approvals and production work on custom-manufactured packaging. The approval and returns sections are the ones worth reading closely.

  • Effective July 30, 2026
  • Custom made-to-order goods
  • Written approvals required

1. Scope

These terms apply to quotes issued by Lip Boxes and to orders placed with us for custom-manufactured packaging. Where we issue a written quote or order confirmation containing specific terms, those specific terms take precedence over anything on this page.

Registered company details will be published on this page once confirmed. Until then, contact is by email at[email protected].

2. Quotes and pricing

  • Quotes are based on the specification you supply. If dimensions, quantity, material, print colours or finishing change, the price changes with them.
  • Quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote. Where material or freight costs move materially in the meantime, we may need to re-quote and will say so rather than substituting a cheaper specification.
  • Any price shown on this website, including the starting unit price of $0.30 per piece, is an indicative entry figure for a simple specification at qualifying large-volume quantities. It is not an offer and not a fixed price for every order.
  • Freight is quoted separately from goods unless a quote states otherwise, because it depends on volume, destination and receiving requirements.
  • Taxes and duties are additional unless expressly included in a quote.

3. Placing an order

An order exists when we issue a written confirmation against your instruction to proceed. Production does not begin at that point — it begins after the approvals in section 4.

Changes requested before die line approval can usually be accommodated without cost. Changes after that point may incur new tooling, new plates or a new proof cycle, and we will tell you the cost before proceeding.

4. Approvals: die line and proof

These two approvals are the point at which responsibility for the specification and the artwork transfers to you.

  • Die line approval fixes the structure and dimensions. Once a die is cut, a dimensional change requires a new die at your cost.
  • Proof approval fixes colour and content. The production run is manufactured to the approved proof, and we retain it as the reference.
  • Both approvals must be given in writing by you or by a person you have authorised. Verbal approval is not sufficient.
  • We are not responsible for errors present in an approved proof, including spelling, ingredient declarations, net contents statements, barcodes, shade names or any regulated copy.
  • Where you decline a structural sample or a printed proof on stock that we have recommended one for, you accept the risk that arises from that decision.

5. Artwork and intellectual property

You keep your rights; you also carry responsibility for what the artwork contains.

  • You retain all intellectual property rights in artwork you supply. We use it only to produce your order.
  • You confirm that you hold the rights to everything in the artwork, including images, fonts and trademarks, and that printing it does not infringe a third party's rights.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy and legal compliance of all copy, including ingredient declarations, net contents, responsible party details, SPF drug facts panels and any product claim. We do not review compliance, as stated in the artwork guidelines for print files.
  • Die lines and structural drawings we create remain ours, and we license them to you for the manufacture of your packaging.
  • We do not use your artwork or brand in our own promotion without your written permission.

6. Manufacturing tolerances

Print and converting are physical processes with normal variation. These are industry realities rather than defects.

  • Colour. Process colour varies within normal commercial tolerance between runs. Where exact consistency matters, specify a spot Pantone rather than a process build.
  • Dimensions. Cutting and creasing carry tolerance, which is why artwork must include bleed and keep live copy inside a safe area.
  • Substrate. Board shade varies slightly between mill batches, particularly on kraft and recycled grades.
  • Quantity. Print runs can deliver marginally over or under the ordered quantity. Where a delivered quantity variance applies, it is stated on your quote.
  • Hand-assembled goods. Rigid boxes show more unit-to-unit variation than machine-converted cartons, by the nature of the process.

7. Payment

Payment terms are stated on your quote or order confirmation. Custom manufacturing normally requires payment or a deposit before production begins, because the goods have no resale value to us.

Where credit terms are agreed in writing, invoices are payable within the agreed period. We may suspend work on overdue accounts and will tell you before doing so. Title in the goods passes to you on full payment.

8. Delivery and risk

  • Delivery dates are estimates given in good faith and depend on your approvals being returned promptly, as set out on theproduction turnaround times.
  • Risk in the goods passes on delivery to the address you nominate, or on collection where you arrange your own carrier.
  • You are responsible for giving us accurate delivery information, including receiving hours, appointment requirements and any access limitations. Re-delivery costs arising from incorrect information are chargeable.
  • Visible damage or shortage must be noted on the delivery paperwork at the time and reported to us promptly with photographs.

9. Returns on custom goods

This section differs from what you may expect from consumer retail, and it is a consequence of the goods being made to your specification.

Packaging manufactured to your approved die line and proof is bespoke. It cannot be resold or reused, so returns for change of mind, incorrect ordering or over-ordering are not available once production has begun.

Where goods do not conform to the approved specification, we will:

  1. Review the reported issue against the approved die line and proof.
  2. Ask for photographs and, where useful, samples of the affected units.
  3. Reprint the affected quantity, or issue a credit or refund for it, at our option and proportionate to the shortfall.

Report a suspected fault promptly and before the packaging is filled or distributed, since a fault found after filling is considerably harder to assess and to remedy.

10. Liability

Our liability in connection with an order is limited to the value of that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost sales, wasted product, recall costs, or costs arising from a delay to a launch.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Where an order is delayed or prevented by an event outside our reasonable control, we will tell you promptly and work with you on the options rather than simply invoking the clause.

11. Use of this website

Content on this site is provided for information. Dimensions, weights, lead times and material characteristics described here are general guidance, and the figures that apply to your order are the ones stated in your written quote.

Text, photography and layout on this site are ours or used with permission. Do not reproduce them without written consent. Do not attempt to disrupt the site or submit content through its forms that is unlawful or that you do not have the right to send.

12. General

  • These terms, together with your written quote and order confirmation, form the whole agreement between us on that order.
  • If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • We may update these terms. The version in force for your order is the one published when your order was confirmed.
  • The effective date of this version is July 30, 2026.

Questions about these terms go to[email protected]. How we handle the information you send is set out in theour privacy policy.

Need something clarified before ordering?

Ask before you place an order rather than after. We would rather spend ten minutes explaining a clause than resolve a misunderstanding later.

Price starts from $0.30 per piece for large-volume orders. Final pricing depends on size, material, printing, and quantity.
